Middle School baseball splits games with Canton, Williamson.
 

The Wellsboro Middle School baseball team split a doubleheader with Williamson and Canton on Saturday, April 15.

The Hornets beat Williamson 8-1 in the first game, and lost 2-0 to Canton in the second.

Against Williamson, Isaac Keane and Zack Rowland both went 2-for-3 and scored two runs, Kaeden Mann and Brock Hamblin were 1-for-2, Kanan Keck and Zach Singer were both 1-for-3, and Bailey Wilcox and Zach Bowers were 1-for-1. Tyler Fletcher, Wilcox, Hamblin, and Alex Moore added runs.

Mann pitched a complete, five-inning game, allowing three hits, one run, and struck out seven.

Against Canton, Mann, Fletcher, and Bowers had the Hornets' only three hits. Rowland pitched four innings, giving up two runs on three hits with five strikeouts.

Earlier in the week, Wellsboro tied Bucktail 3-3 and beat them 12-1 in the second game.

The Hornets are 2-1-1 on the year and will be back in action on Wednesday, April 19 for a doubleheader at Towanda.
