Canton baseball blanks Troy; Griffins top CMVT.

2012 Canton vs. Troy BaseballCANTON - The Warriors shut out the Troy Trojans, scoring four sixth-inning runs in a 7-0 victory.

Garrett Wesneski and Scott Rockwell combined on the mound for the Warriors, holding the Trojans to four hits in the shutout.

Wesneski struck out six and walked two and Rockwell struck out two and walked none.

Rockwell had a double, a stolen base and he scored a run and Connor Route had a run scored and an RBI.

Emmett Watson had two hits, including a three-run home run in the four-run sixth, and he scored a run.

Wesneski scored a run and Wes Moore had a hit.

Derek Wilcox had a hit and scored two runs and Ben Pepper had two hits and scored a run.

Lucas Havens, Zach Root, Chad Vermilya and Jarod Mattocks all had hits for Troy.

Cody Wolfe started for the Trojans, striking out two and allowed two runs.

Vermilya went 2 1/3 innings, striking out one and allowing four runs and Delbert Lewis worked 2/3 of an inning, striking out one and allowing one run.

Canton is at Galeton today and Troy hosts Athens.

Sullivan County 7, CMVT 1

The Griffins scored five runs in the first two innings as they improved to 7-3 on the season.

Forrest Jordan scored two runs for Sullivan County and Lucas Hatton had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Zach Meyer had two doubles and two RBI and Kelby Mullen had a double.

Tommy Blasi had a hit and scored two runs, Jake Gavitt scored a run and Tim Kramer had two hits, with a double, a run scored and three RBI.

Forrest Jordan went the distance on the mound, striking out seven, walking three and allowing two hits and one earned run.

Sullivan County hosts Montgomery today.
