Canton keeps Athens out of districts; Wyalusing wins.

The Warriors knocked Athens out of district playoff contention with an 11-5 win in NTL East baseball action Thursday.
Garrett Wesneski went 3-for-4 with a double and 4-RBI to lead Canton while Ryan Ball was 2-for-2 with two runs scored.
Scott Rockwell, Derek Wilcox, Josiah Bardo, Chase Pepper, Wes Moore and Ben Pepper also had hits with Wilcox, Chase Pepper and Ben Pepper each belting doubles.
Chase Pepper knocked in two runs while Rockwell and Moore each had one RBI. Rockwell, Chase Pepper and Ben Pepper each scored twice while Wilcox, Bardo and Connor Route also scored.
Chase Pepper got the win, striking out three in four innings while Ben Pepper came on in relief for two. He struck out one.
Rockwell pitched the final inning, striking out one.
Craig Moore and Troy Stivason both went 2-for-4 with doubles while Stivason scored twice. Adam McCauley had a double while Chris Pack and Curt Moore also had hits.
McCauley, Curt Moore and Stag Shadduck also scored runs.
Pack scored the loss, giving up seven runs in three innings while Tyler Forbes came on in relief.
The Rams moved to one win away from clinching a share of the NTL East title Thursday.
Joe Champluvier, Andrew Pickett, Kyle Tinna and Chad Johnson each had two hits for the Rams. Champluvier added two runs and 2-RBI, Pickett and Tinna knocked in two runs each while Johnson had one RBI. Tinna and Johnson also scored.
Logan Hitchcock and Cody Pickett also had hits while Kye Novak, Domenic Ciccolini each scored twice while Cody Pickett crossed home once.
Andrew Pickett went all seven innings for the win, striking out eight while allowing two walks, seven hits and two earned runs.
Nick Skerpon had a 2-run home run to lead the Redskins while Nate Williams, Alex Lyons, Jared Donovan, Joe Kozemko, Tyler Williams, Kyle Lake and Brad Felt also had hits. Lyons and Donovan's were doubles.
Donovan also had 2-RBI while Nate Williams and Lyons scored twice.
Lyons started and earns the loss, going five innings to allow eight hits and four walks while striking out five. Sandon Beeman pitched one inning, striking out while allowing two hits and two walks.
Wyalusing is at Northeast Bradford today and will face Athens at Sayre Saturday with a 10 a.m. start.
WYSOX - The Black Knights fell in non-league action Thursday.
Sawyer Strope went 1-for-2 with a double for Towanda while Zach Ripic, Mason Roof, Grady Robinson and Dylan Bates also had hits. Ripic scored and stole a base while Austin Markel had an RBI. Brandon Dinelli and Casey Huff also had steals.
Strope (3-1) scored the loss going 2 1/3-innings to strike out one while allowing three walks, four hits and four earned runs. Tristan James came on for 2 2/3-innings allowing two hits and striking out two.
Dinelli went one inning to allow two walks, two hits and two earned runs. Dylan Bates pitched one inning to strike out one.
"Tonight was not a good game to watch," Towanda coach Bill Sexton said. "We basically did not show up tonight. We didn't play well in any phases of the game. We need to be a lot better than we were tonight or there isn't going to be much left in the season."
Towanda will host Sayre today with an early 4 p.m. start.
