LERAYSVILLE - The Sullivan County Griffins went 2-0 at the Christiansen Tire and Alignment Tournament at Northeast Bradford on Saturday afternoon.
The Griffins beat Northeast Bradford and Williamson, defeating the Panthers 8-2 and the Warriors 7-2.
In the title game the Griffins got four runs in the fourth and added two more in the fifth and a run in the sixth to rally for the win.
Zach Meyer went the distance on the mound, striking out nine, walking two and allowing seven hits and two runs, one earned.
Meyer had two hits at the plate, with a double and three RBI and Forrest Jordan had a hit and a run scored, while Lucas Hatton had a hit and two runs scored.
Kelby Mullen, Barry Heinrich, Shawn Flannery, Tom Blasi and Tim Kramer all had hits in the game.
Mullen had an RBI, Heinrich, Flannery and Blasi scored runs and Kramer had a double and two RBI.
Williamson got two hits and a run scored from Hunter Huyett and Kyle Colegrove, while Jordan Confer had two hits and Drew Fish had a hit.
Confer worked five innings on the mound and Trevor Adriance closed things out with two innings on the mound.
In the first game of the day Sullivan County scored five runs in the third and fourth innings to defeat the host Panthers.
Jordan had a hit and scored a run and Hatton had a 3-for-3 day with a triple and four runs scored, driving in one.
Meyer had a double, an RBI and Mullen had a hit and an RBI.
Flannery had three hits and Kramer and Heirich each scored runs.
Mullen started on the mound and Heinrich finished for the Griffins, as they struck out four in the game.
The Panthers got a pair of hits from Aaron Pifer and Dylan Chapman had two hits, with a double, and a run scored.
James Zajac had two hits, with a double, and an RBI and a run scored and Brett Goodwin had a hit, a stolen base and an RBI.
Cody Clark and Dylan Saxon both added hits for the Panthers.
Ben Abell started for Northeast Bradford and Bill Franklin and Andy Seeley each pitched in relief.
The Griffins are now 6-3 on the season.
"I'm very proud of the boys, the way they continued to play and worked together hard at every practice to win," Sullivan County coach Walt Tubach said. "I have a great group of boys that work well together."
The Griffins are at CMVT on Tuesday.
In the second game at the Christiansen Tire and Alignment Tournament, the Warriors scored in each of the first six innings on their way to the win.
Colegrove had two hits in the game and Confer had three hits, with a triple.
Matt Gee, Fish, Curtis Heck and Adriance all had hits, while Josh Dilly had two hits, with a double.
Abell had two hits, with a triple, for the Panthers and Pifer, Zajac, Jesse Stroud, Goodwin and Jeremiah Harvey all added hits. Zajac and Stroud's hits were doubles.
Dilly started for the Warriors and Gee finished up the game on the mound for Williamson, getting the victory.
Seeley started for the Panthers, working three innings with two strikeouts and Franklin worked one inning with no strikeouts, while Zajac threw two innings with two strikeouts.
Northeast Bradford hosts Galeton on Monday.
Wyalusing 13, Mifflinburg 2
Wyalusing 8, Central Columbia 0, suspended middle fourth for rain
The Rams were looking to win the tournament for the third straight year and they took an 8-0 lead in the championship game before the rain halted the game.
In the opener Logan Hitchcock had a 4-for-4 day with two doubles and five RBI and Kye Novak had an RBI and a run scored, while Joey Champluvier had three hits, three RBI and two runs scored.
Devin Carr and Jordan Salsman each scored runs and Andrew Pickett had a two-run home run.
Mitchell Pickett had three hits and an RBI and Kyle Tinna had two hits, with a double, a triple and two runs scored, while Chad Johnson had a hit and three runs scored.
Champluvier worked five innings to get the win, striking out three, walking two and allowing five hits and one earned run. Cody Picket worked 1/3 of an inning, walking three and allowing one earned run. Mitchell Picket went 1 2/3 perfect innings with two strikeouts.
Wyalusing hosts Williamson on Monday.
Upper Dauphin 5, Troy 3
Troy 19, Line Mountain 13
The Troy Trojans went 1-1 at the Shamokin Tournament on Saturday.
In the opener Troy fell to Upper Dauphin 5-3. Upper Dauphin scored two in the bottom of the second on a two-run double by Ian Fuffington and in the top of the third Chad Vermilya led of with a double and was followed by a single by Jarod Mattocks and a two-run single by Lucas Havens.
In the bottom of the fourth Upper Dauphin scored three runs on three hits and three walks and in the bottom of the sixth Troy's Brandon mattocks led off with a double and scored on a Josh Mattocks sacrifice fly.
Adam Wizner pitched all seven to get the win for Upper Dauphin and after Cody Wolfe left the game with an injury, Havens finished on the mound.
In the second game they defeated Line Mountain 19-13, pounding out 18 hits.
Justin Fitzater, Vermilya, Delbert Lewis and Havens all pitched, with Havens getting the win.
Jesse Snyder, Alex Karloukh, Tyler Strouse and Eric Smeltz pitched for LIne Mountain with Smeltz getting the loss.
Jarod Mattocks had four hits, with five runs scored and Havens had four hits with two runs scored and five RBI.
Tyler Hodge had three hits an dfour runs scored, Zach Root had two hits, a two-run home run and six RBI, Vermilya had two doubles and three runs scored and Josh Mattocks had two hits, with a double and three RBI.
Brandon Mattocks had a double and a run scored, Fitzwater had two hits, two runs scored and three RBI, Lewis had two hits, three runs scored and an RBI and Landis Zimmerman had two hits and an RBI.
Troy is at Canton on Monday.
Anthony Roma had a three-run home run in the opening inning and Matt DePalmo allowed six hits on the mound as U-E topped Athens.
Curt Moore had a double, a single and a run scored for Athens and Tyler Forbes had an RBI double, while Mike Estes and Adam McCauley each had hits in the game.
Athens got on the board in the fourth as Curt Moore scored on a Forbes' RBI double.
In the second inning Moore and Estes singled and Forbes walked to load the bases with one-out, but DePalmo got out of the jam with a strikeout and a flyout.
Chris Pack allowed six runs, three earned, on six hits, with no strikeouts or walks for Athens.
Vestal went up 5-0 by the fourth inning and the Wildcats were never able to recover on Saturday.
Craig Moore singled in the fifth and came around to score Athens' only run on an error.
Craig Moore had two hits in the game and Chris Pack had two hits, with a double, while Nick Bradley had a double and Curt Moore added a hit.
Curt Moore pitched for Athens, allowing five runs, just one earned, on six hits, striking out four and walking two in the game.
Athens hosts Wellsboro on Monday.

Tinna got his first varsity win, striking out two, walking one and allowing four hits in six innings of work. Champluvier pitched on inning in relief.
Andrew Pickett had two hits and a run scored, Mitchell Pickett had a hit and a run scored and Dominic Ciccolini had a pair of hits, with a double.
