Wyalusing takes two from Canton.

2012 Wyalusing vs. Canton BaseballWYALUSING - The Rams punched out three quick runs as they defeated Canton 10-7 in eight innings to finish up a suspended game from earlier in the season Wednesday.

Right after they finished up the suspended game the Rams came out and defeated the Warriors 8-4. The victory leaves the Rams tied atop the NTL East standings with Towanda with one loss each, two games ahead of Canton and Sayre.

Tied 7-7 going into the top of the eighth, a Joe Champluvier triple brought in Cody Pickett and Logan Hitchcock to put the Rams up 9-7. Champluvier was then brought in on a Kyle Tinna single.

Champluvier went 2-for-5 with two runs scored while Shane Salsman and Mitchell Pickett both went 2-for-4 while one of Pickett's hits was a double.

Hitchcock, Tinna, Dylan Otis and Domenic Ciccolini also had hits.

Cody Pickett, Hitchcock, Andrew Pickett and Tinna scored twice.

Emmett Watson went 2-for-3 with a run scored for Canton while Derek Wilcox went 2-for-4.

Wes Moore, Chase Pepper and Garrett Wesneski had hits with Pepper's hit a double.

Scott Rockwell and Moore had two runs each while Watson, Ryan Ball and Josiah Bardo all scored.

In the full game on Wednesday the Rams pounded out 10 hits on their way to the victory.

Champluvier had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. He had a double and a pair of stolen bases in the game.

Kye Novak scored two runs and Hitchcock had a hit, a run scored and two RBI.

Cicollini had a hit, an RBI and he stole a base and Mitchell Pickett had two hits, a run scored and a stolen base.

Tinna had three hits and stole a base and Chad Johnson scored a run for Wyalusing.

Hitchcock went the distance in the second game, striking out five, walking four and allowing four hits and four runs, three earned.

Watson and Wesneski had two hits each for Canton, with Wesneski getting an RBI and a double and Watson having two doubles and he scored two runs.

Rockwell had a hit and Moore had an RBI, while Ball and Ben Pepper scored runs in the game.

Ball worked 2 1/3 innings, striking out one, walking two and allowing six hits and five runs, all earned. Ben Pepper worked 2 2/3 innings, striking out three, walking five and allowing four hits and three earned runs. Derek Wilcox threw one no-hit, no-run inning with one walk.

Sayre 6, Athens 1

ATHENS - Jared Donovan held the Wildcats to just five hits in the game and Sayre scored two in the first and three in the third on their way to the victory.

Donovan struck out seven, walked one and allowed five hits and one run in the game.

Sayre got a three-hit day with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI from Nick Skerpon and Nate Williams had two hits, with a double and two runs scored.

Joe Kozemko had two hits, with a triple and a run scored and Tyler Williams had a hit and an RBI, Kyle Lake had a hit and scored a run and Alex Lyons had two RBI.

Troy Stivason had a hit and an RBI for Athens and Neil Carpenter and Curt Moore had hits, while Stag Shadduck had two hits and scored a run.

Adam McCauley struck out two, walked one and allowed six hits and five runs, four earned in five innings and Tyler Forbes finished the game on the mound for Athens, striking out two.

Towanda 11, NEB 1, 5 innings

WYSOX - The Black Knights scored 10 first inning runs on their way to the victory on Wednesday.

"I was pleased with a number of things today," Towanda coach Bill Sexton said. "I thought we came out and played aggressively. Tonight we came out making plays and I thought our pitching was really good tonight.

"I was pleased with the way we hit the ball. It was a big first inning. I was pleased with (Sawyer) Strope. I thought Strope came out and looked really dominant."

In the first inning Casey Huff led off with a double and after an out was recorded Zack Ripic singled home Huff. Ripic stole second and Mason Roof doubled and a throwing error allowed both Ripic and Roof to scored. Austin Markel walked and Nick Place singled and Grady Robinson hit a ground-rule double that brought home Markel.

Strope walked and Dylan Bates singled home Place and Huff singled which scored Robinson and Noah Huff, who was running for Strope.

Brandon Dinelli singled home Bates and Huff and after a second out was recorded, Dinelli scored on Roof's second double of the inning.

Casey Huff had two hits, with a double, two RBI and two runs scored and Noah Huff had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Dinelli had a hit and two RBI, Tye Fowler scored a run and Ripic had a hit, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.

Roof had two doubles, an RBI and a run scored and Markel scored a run, while Place had two hits and scored two runs.

Robinson had two hits, a double, an RBI and a run scored and Bates had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Strope struck out one in one perfect inning to get the win and go to 3-0 and Dinelli struck out two and walked two, while allowing two hits and one earned run in two innings, before Tristan James struck out four and walked one in two hitless innings.

James Zajac and Jesse Stroud had hits for the Panthers and Zajac scored a run.

Stroud started and walked two in 1/3 of an inning. Andy Seeley worked 1 2/3 innings, and Bill Franklin struck out two in two innings.

Towanda hosts Athens today.

Troy 7, CV 2

Cody Wolfe worked three innings on the mound for Troy, striking out three, walking one and allowing one hit and one unearned run to get the win.

Delbert Lewis worked three innings, striking out three, walking and allowing no hits. Justin Fitzwater worked one inning, walking one and allowing two hits and one earned run.

Jarod Mattocks had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored and Chad Vermilya had a hit and a run scored, while Josh Mattocks had a hit and an RBI.

Zach Root had a hit and a run scored, Tyler Hodge had a hit and an RBI and Lucas Havens, Fitzwater and Landis Zimmerman all scored runs. Fitzwater had two RBI and havens had an RBI.

Brandon Whitesell went five innings on the mound for CV, striking out two, walking three and allowing five hits and four earned runs.

Troy travels to Mansfield on Friday.
