Wellsboro baseball holds off Canton.

CANTON - Up 6-3, the Wellsboro Green Hornets watched Canton rally with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game.

However, Wellsboro had the answer in the seventh, getting the lead back as they came away with a 7-6 win.

In the seventh inning Ben Shaw reached on an error, Brian Doty walked and Dylan Prough drove in Shaw with the go-ahead run.

After Wellsboro got the first run of the game in the first inning, Canton got two runs of their own in the first to go up 2-1.

Wellsboro took a 3-2 lead in the third, before Canton tied it in the bottom of the fourth. Wellsboro took the lead with the big fifth inning, before Canton came back in the sixth.

Matt Reese had a pair of hits in the game and scored three runs and Dawson Prough had two hits and scored two runs.

Shaw scored a run and had an RBI and Dylan Prough had two hits and an RBI.

Connor Coolidge had a hit in the game and Brandon Owlett had a hit and scored a run for the Green Hornets.

Reese went the distance on the mound, striking out six.

Garrett Wesneski started on the mound for Canton, striking out three in three innings. Wes Moore struck out one in one inning and Chase Pepper struck out four in three innings.

Emmett Watson had a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Connor Route had three hits, with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored.

Josiah Bardo had a hit and Kyle Landis had two hits.

Trevor Route had a double and scored two runs and Tim Bassett scored a run.

Wyalusing 23, NEB 1, 4 innings

The Rams scored 13 runs in the fourth inning to cruise to the win Monday.

Chad Johnson had two hits, with a home run, scored two runs and had an RBI for the Rams and Isaac Bennett had a hit and scored three runs.

Kyle Tinna had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored and Andrew Pickett had two hits, with a double, four runs scored and three RBI.

Shane Salsman had two hits, four runs scored and three RBI and Dylan Otis had two hits, with two runs scored, a double and an RBI.

Cody Pickett had a hit and scored three runs and Devin Carr had a double, a run scored and two RBI. Jordan Salsman scored a run and Behrend had a double, two RBI and a run scored.

Cody Pickett struck out one, walked two and allowed one hit and one run in two innings and Dylan Otis struck out one and allowed one hit in two innings.

Aaron Pifer had a hit and scored a run for Northeast Bradford and Bryan Ford had a hit, while Nic Geiser had an RBI.

Geiser started on the mound for the Panthers.

Northeast Bradford hosts Neumann on Friday.

Towanda 13, Sayre 3, 5 innings

The Black Knights got six runs in the first and four in the third on their way to the victory on Monday.

"I was real pleased with the way we came right out in the first inning and scored six runs," Towanda coach Bill Sexton said. "They made a crucial error right off the bat and they made another in the outfield that extended the inning. The errors definitely helped us, but we had a lot of hits in the inning as well.

"Jumping out and getting seven runs in the first two innings put us in a position to not have to use anybody (pitchers) up tonight. We didn't have to use anybody that won't be available later in the week for us."

Brandon Dinelli had a hit, scored two runs and had two RBI and Jared Lines scored two runs.

Dylan Bates had two hits, three RBI and scored two runs and Nick Place had a double.

Cole Sexton scored two runs and Tye Fowler scored two runs, while Austin Markel had a hit, a run scored and two RBI. Sawyer Strope had two hits, a double and two RBI, while Tristan James had a hit and an RBI and Mitch Patel had a hit and a run scored.

James started and pitched two innings, striking out six, walking none and allowing five hits and two unearned runs to get the win. Markel struck out three, walked two and allowed three hits and one run in three innings.

Jake Wheeler had a hit for Sayre and Kyle Lake had two hits and scored a run. Nick Skerpon had two hits and scored two runs, Dave Mendola had two hits and two RBI and Derrick Keir had a hit, while Nick Hall had an RBI.

Keir started on the mound and Lake pitched in relief.

Towanda's big first inning started when Dinelli reached on an error, stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch. Lines walked and stole second and both scored on a single by Bates. Place reached on a fielder's choice and Sexton came in to run. Markel walk and Strope doubled home Sexton, putting Markel on third. James singled home Markel and an error off the bat of Richard Benjamin loaded the bases, before Dinelli delivered a two-run single.

Towanda is at Canton on Wednesday.

Sullivan County 14, Neumann 8

The Griffins scored 11 runs in the first two innings on their way to the win.

Barry Heinrich had a hit, two runs scored and an RBI and Lucas Hatton had a hit, two runs scored and two RBI.

Kelby Mullen had two hits, two runs scored and two RBI and Zach Meyer had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI.

Colton Frye had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI and Tom Blasi had a hit and scored two runs.

Sean Flannery had three hits, two RBI and he scored two runs and Conner Wylie had a hit, while Derek Farrell had two hits and two RBI.

Mullen struck out three, walked two and allowed five hits and three runs, two earned, in three innnings. Heinirch struck out one and allowed no hits or walks and one unearned run in one inning. Meyer struck out one, allowed six hits and four runs, three earned, in three innings.

Ryan Reed had two hits, with a double to lead Neumann.

Sullivan County hots Bucktail on Wednesday.

Athens 19, Troy 4, 3 innings

Zane Vargason got the win on the mound for Athens, striking out two, allowing four hits and four runs in the game.

Vargason also was the big hitter at the plate with two home runs, and three hits, with four RBI.

Curt Moore had two hits and scored three runs and Craig Moore had two hits, with a double and scored two runs.

Tyler Forbes had a double and scored two runs, Stag Shadduck had a hit and scored a run and Nick Vosburg and John Kleiner each scored a run in the game.

Jake Shaffer had two hits and scored two runs and Troy Stivason scored three runs.

Kyle Jackson took the loss for Troy, striking out two and Bradin Heimbach, Darton Harwick, Trey Murray and Landis Zimmerman also pitched for the Trojans.

Jared Mattocks had a double and scored a run for Troy and Zimmerman had a hit and scored two runs.

Josh Mattocks had a double, a run scored and an RBI and Jackson had a hit.

Troy will travel to Midd-West on Wednesday.
