Athens rolls past Blue Ridge.

Athens defeated Blue Ridge 15-1 in non-league softball action Saturday.
Miranda Peterson and Mackenzie Warner led the way at the plate for the Wildcats. Peterson went 3-for-5 with two runs and 2-RBI while Warner was 3-for-5 with two runs and 3-RBI.
Kaitlyn Testen (2-for-5), Reagan Lynch (2-for-5), Jensen Dunkling (2-for-3) and Aubrey Allen (2-for-4) also had multiple hits in the game.
Mackenzie Hafer, Haley Priester, Sarah Munn and Rica Dimon had one hit each.
Allen scored three times while Lynch, Hafer and Dunkling all scored twice. Testen and Priester also crossed home.
Munn drove in four runs for the Wildcats while Hafer, Dunkling and Dimon had 2-RBI each.
In the circle Dunkling got the win, going the distance to strike out six while allowing three walks, two hits and one unearned one.
Central Mountain 5, Troy 3
The Trojans suffered their first loss of the season in non-league softball action Saturday.
Troy led 1-0 after the first inning and kept the lead 2-1 after the second. Central Mountain then scored two runs in the top of the third to take a 3-2 lead. They increased their lead to 4-2 in the fourth.
Troy cut it to 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth while Central made it 5-3 in the top of the seventh.
Faith Ceely had two hits for Troy while Taylor Murray and Taylor Johnston had a double each. Brooke Mattocks, Kerrigan Hoffman and Brooke Losey-Root also had hits.
Murray, Hoffman and Losey-Root each knocked a run in while Johnston, Mattocks and Kelsey Bristol scored.
Hoffman started and earned the loss, going five innings to allow five hits, one walk, four runs, only two of which were earned while striking out one.
Jerilyn Ross came in to finish up the last two, allowing one unearned run and a hit.
Troy travels to Athens Monday.

Athens 10, Blue Ridge 1
The Wildcats picked up a non-league baseball win Saturday.
Zane Vargason led the way for Athens, going 2-for-3 with three runs and 2-RBI while Nick Vosburg was 2-for-3, including a triple, with two runs scored.
Jarrett Priester and Sam Perri each had a double while Neil Carpenter, Tyler Forbes and Tyler Secules also had hits.
Dan Fisher scored twice while Perri, Priester and Secules also scored. Forbes knocked in 3-RBI, Priester knocked in two runs while Perri and Jon Kleiner had 1-RBI each.
Forbes earned the win with four strikeouts and one hit. Perri pitched an inning of relief with one walk, one unearned run and one hit while Cody Jennings pitched an inning with two strikeouts and a walk.
