CV baseball rallies past NEB.

It was a slugfest that came down to the final outs on Thursday afternoon.

Northeast Bradford scored eight runs in the sixth and seventh inning to build a 12-8 lead over CV on Thursday, but in the bottom of the last inning the Indians scored five runs to win 13-12.

Cowanesque Valley got home runs from Colton Vinluan and Tyler Melko in the win, while Bryan Ford and Brian Horton had home runs for Northeast Bradford.

Caleb Fitzwater had two hits for CV, with an RBI and a run scored and Wynn Doan had two RBI and scored a run. Melko had a home run, a run scored and two RBI and Vinluan had two hits, with the home run, and four RBI and two runs scored.

Corey Wells had three hits, an RBI and a run scored and Matt Freeman had a hit and a run scored.

Chris Lingle had a hit and two runs scored and Nick Vasco had a hit, a run scored and two RBI, while Jace Bieser had two hits and scored three times.

Aaron Pifer had a hit and scored two times for NEB and Horton had two hits, with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored.

Ford had two hits, with a home run, an RBI and a run scored and David Ford had a hit and scored a run.

Nate Watkins had three hits and scored two runs and Garret Smith had a hit. Derrick Newman scored two runs and Tyler Emick had two hits, three RBI and a run scored, while Nicholas Vrabel had a hit and scored a run. Horton and Emick had doubles for NEB and Vasco had a double for CV.

Horton went six innings for NEB, striking out four and Nate Chilson pitched 1/3 of an inning with a strikeout.

Lingle struck out five in five innings for CV and Fitzwater struck out two in two innings.

Edison 13, Waverly 2

Edison had a 10-run third inning to defeat the Wolverines on Thursday in a key IAC matchup.

Peyton Miller had a hit and an RBI for Waverly and Nate Bennett had a hit and an RBI. Zac Saxon scored a run and Gavin Bennett had a hit, while Mike Girolamo had a double and a run scored.

Edison pounded out 10 hits in the game.

Collin Traub started for Waverly, striking out one in 2 2/3 innings, giving up five hits and 10 runs, none earned as Waverly was hurt by four errors.

Gavin Bennett struck out one in 2 1/2 innings and Nate Bennett struck out two in an inning, while Saxon struck out one in an inning.
