Mansfield walks off with win over WellsboroMANSFIELD -- Carl Dinger scored the winning run in the seventh as North Penn-Mansfield walked off with a 5-4 win over Wellsboro in District 4, Class AA baseball action.

With the game tied at four in the bottom of the seventh, Dinger got a one-out walk. After Levi Adams was hit by a pitch, Dinger stole third and Wellsboro's throw was errant, allowing Dinger to score the winning run.

Both teams scored four runs in the first inning, and both teams got great relief pitching after that.

Adams started for Mansfield, allowing two hits, four walks and four runs, none earned, in the first 1 2/3 innings.

After that, Kipp Hillson and J.P. Shaw threw 5 1/3 dominant innings of relief.

Hillson struck out two and allowed one hit in 3 1/3 shutout innings and Shaw threw two innings of perfect relief, striking out one.

Joe Allen started for Wellsboro, allowing a hit, four runs, one earned, and four walks in one inning. Johnny Rowland struck out three and walked one, allowing five hits and one unearned run in 5 1/3 innings.

Dinger had two hits and scored two runs and Dylan Wesneski had a double, an RBI and a runs cored.

Dewey Wise had a double and an RBI for Mansfield and Dylan Williamson and Hillson had hits, while Brendan Hill and Adams scored runs and Joel Whittaker had an RBI.

Rowland had two hits and an RBI for Wellsboro and Allen had a hit and scored a run.

Nick Tremper, James Mundy and Cam Tennis all scored runs for Wellsboro and Larry Walters had an RBI.

Hugesville 10, Troy 0, 6 innings

The season came to an end for Troy with the loss.

Logan Bower threw a two-hitter for Hughesville in the win.

Hughesville broke the game open with five runs in the fifth.

Kyle Schucker and Nathan Swain pitched for Troy in the loss.

Tyler Williams had a double for Troy and Clark Jackson had a hit.

Trey Smith had two hits and three RBI for Hughesville and Zack Campbell had two hits and two RBI, with a run scored.

Conner Kepner had two hits and scored two runs and Bower had a hit and scored three runs.

Troy ends the season at 11-10, while Hughesville is 18-3 and will take on Warrior Run Thursday at Bowman Field in the district semifinals.

Muncy 7, CV 6, 8 innings

The Indians scored three in the first inning, but Muncy came back with two in the bottom of the first and two in the second.

After CV tied the game in the third, Muncy went ahead with two in the fifth, before CV tied it in the top of the sixth. Muncy got the win in the bottom of the eighth.

Cameron Good scored the winning run for Muncy on a Hunter Dunlap hit in the bottom of the eighth.

Caleb Fitzwater had two hits for CV and Corey Wells scored a run.

Nevin Stiles had a hit and a run scored and Kurtis Easton had an rbI and a run scored, while Tyler Melko had an RBI and Colton Vinluan scored a run.

Connor Calaman had a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Wynn Doan had three hits, witha double, and three RBI.

Christ Lingle had three hits and Christian Kemp had a hit and scored a run.

Good had three hits, three RBI and the wining run for Muncy and Andrew Keller had two hits.

CV ends the year 10-11, while Muncy is 14-7 and will take on Millville at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Bowman Field.
