NP-Mansfield tops Wellsboro.

North Penn-Mansfield used big innings in the second, fourth and fifth to beat Wellsboro 10-0 in five innings of NTL baseball action Monday.

Levi Adams went 2-for-3 with two runs to lead the Tigers, while Dylan Wesneski and Carl Dinger both had doubles with two runs scored. Dinger also had an RBI.

Brendan Hill, Dylan Williamson and Dewey Wise also had hits.

Wise and Joel Whitteker knocked in two runs each, while Williamson and Hill also had an RBI.

Williamson, Logan Adams, Wise and Whitteker all crossed home.

JP Shaw got the win, striking out six while allowing two hits and three walks.

Joe Allen went 2-for-2 to lead Wellsboro.

Johnny Rowland started and earns the loss, going three innings to strike out one while allowing four hits and three earned runs.

Dalton Prough went the next inning, allowing six walks, three hits and seven runs, three of them earned.

Nic Ingerick finished out, walking one.

Sayre 11, Waverly 1

WAVERLY, N.Y. — The Redskins pounded out 10 hits as they defeated their valley rivals in non-league baseball action Saturday.

James Esposito went 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI to lead Sayre while Matt Williams was 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI.

Nate Sweet, Connor Hanafin, John Esposito, Jordan Rockwell and Jake Goodrich also had hits.

Goodrich scored twice, while Sam Wheeler, Luke Cowder, John Esposito, Rockwell and Chris Ray all scored.

Goodrich knocked in three RBIs, while Ray, James Esposito, John Esposito, Hannafin and Ryan Murrelle also knocked in runs.

Sweet went the distance for the win, striking out three while allowing four hits and one unearned run.

Brendyn Stillman went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored to lead the Wolverines. Mason Salsman also had a double while Peyton Miller had a hit.

Zach Vanhouten knocked in a run.

Tyler Croft started and went 3 2/3-innings for the loss. He struck out two while allowing six hits, two walks and four runs, two of them earned.

Gavin Bennett came on for an inning, allowing one hit, three walks and two earned runs.

Devin Garrison finished out, striking out two while allowing five hits, two walks and five runs, three of them earned.

Canton 3, Troy 1

Freshman Michael Smithers allowed just three hits as he shut down the Trojans for the non-league baseball win.

He struck out five while allowing three hits and an unearned run.

Kaden Martell was 1-for-2 with two runs for Canton, while Taylor Acala and Brendon Landis each had a hit.

Landis knocked in a run while Bryce Cole scored.

Hunter Cohick was 2-for-2 to lead Troy, while Kody Schucker had the other hit. Collin Binford scored the run.

Nathan Swain started and earns the loss, going three innings to strike out three while allowing two hits, five walks and three runs, one of them earned.

Binford finished out, striking out seven while allowing one hit and one walk.

Cowanesque Valley 15, Northern Potter 4

Tyler Melko went 3-for-4 with a grand slam to lead the Indians to the non-league baseball win Saturday.

Melko added 6-RBI and three runs scored.

Connor Calaman was 2-for-3 with a run scored and 2-RBI while Corey Wells, Nevin Stiles, Chris Lingle, Wynn Doan, Colton Vinluan and Caleb Fitzwater also had hits.

Fitzwater scored three times, while Vinluan and Wells both crossed home twice. Doan, Lingle, Calaman, Stiles and Dennis Hughes also scored.

Calaman had 2-RBI while Vinluan, Lingle, Stiles and Hughes also knocked in runs.

Wells started and threw 2/3-innings with three walks, one hit and two earned runs.

Stiles finished out and got the win, going 5 1/3-innings with 11 strikeouts, four hits, one walk and two earned runs.

Notre Dame 5, Edison 2

The Crusaders picked up a big win over the Spartans in IAC Large North baseball action Saturday.

With the victory Notre Dame pulls into a tie with Eidson for the division title.

Kyle Minchin got the victory for the Crusaders.

This was a completion of a game that was started earlier in the week but stopped by rain.
