Wellsboro 5, Danville 4

The Hornets got two runs in the top of the seventh to pull out the non-league baseball win Friday.

"I was really pleased with Joe's mound presence and game tonight," said Wellsboro coach Philip Prough. "He lets his defense make plays and he's crafty with his pitches. Coming back to beat Danville in the last inning shows the grit of this team. We were able to overcome some simple errors. Once again, we had solid at bats and continue to make the opponent make plays to beat us. Tonight saw two evenly matched teams. We made one or two more plays than they did. That's baseball."

Dalton Prough went 3-for-4 with three runs to lead the Hornets while Johnny Rowland was 2-for-3.

Dawson Prough and Joe Allen each had a double.

Allen went the distance for the win.
