2015 Wyalusing vs. Troy BaseballWYALUSING - A single run was the difference on Friday night as the Wyalusing Rams won a pitchers' duel against the Troy Trojans, 1-0.

Wyalusing got a run in the second inning when Devon Carr singled, stole second and scored on a Dawson Otis RBI single.

That was the only run of the game as Isaac Bennett and Kyle Tinna combined on a five hitter for the Rams.

Bennett worked two innings, striking out two and allowing two hits and one walk. Tinna worked five innings, striking out three and allowing three hits and no walks.

Kyle Jackson was dominant on the mound for the Trojans in the loss, throwing a three-hitter, striking out 11 and walking just one.

Ridge Williams had a hit and a stolen base for Wyalusing, Carr and Otis had the hits and Holdan Hitchcock stole a base.

Jarod Mattocks had two hits for Troy and Kyle Schucker had a double, while Chance Lantz and Isaac Havens each had hits.

Sayre 5, Williamson 0

The Redskins scored four runs in the fourth to help them to their fourth straight win.

Nate Sweet had two hits and scored a run and Jake Wheeler had a hit and an RBI for the Redskins.

Matt Williams had a hit and scored a run and Connor Hanafin had two hits, with two runs scored, and an RBI.

John Esposito had a hit, a run scored and two RBI and J.P. Harbst had an RBI.

Jon Daley had three hits for Williamson and Hunter Sackett had two hits. Matt Learn and Daltyn Confer added hits for Williamson.

Ryan Murrelle struck out three in 4 2/3 innings of six-hit baseball and Jordan Rockwell struck out one in 2 1/3 innings of relief.

Chase Austin struck out three for Williamson.

Canton 11, NEB 1, 5 innings

John Bowman worked three perfect innings for the Warriors, striking out five of the nine batters he faced.

Tyler Cole struck out one and allowed two hits in two innings as the Warriors shut down the Panthers.

Canton got four runs in the first and six in the third in the win.

Trevor Route had a hit, a run and an RBI and Travis Butcher had a hit, a run and an RBI.

Bryce Cole had a hit and two runs and Tyler Cole had two hits, three runs and two RBI.

Bowman had a hit and scored a run and Clayton Tymeson had a hit and an RBI.

Brendon Landis had a hit and scored a run for Canton.

Tyler Emick, and Bryan Ford had hits and Aaron Pifer scored for NEB.

Tyler Devonshire started as NEB threw five pitchers in the game, combining for two strikeouts.

NEB is at Williamson on Monday.

Tioga 29, Odessa-Montour 5, 5 innings

The Tigers scored nine runs in the first and 10 in the third as they cruised to the win.

Parker Hendershot threw four innings to get the win, allowing two hits and one run, unearned, striking out 10 and walking none.

At the plate Hendershot was 4-for-6 with three doubles and three runs scored.

Jesse Manuel had two hits, two runs and three RBI and Adam Layman had two hits, a double, three runs and four RBI.

Peter Simmons was 4-for-4 with three runs and three RBI and Adam Zwierlein had two hits and scored four runs.

Mitchell Taylor was 3-for-3 with an RBI and five runs scored and Gabe Hoose and Lucas Richardson had hits.

Jake Evanek pitched one inning, striking out none.

Tioga is at Waverly on Monday.

Mansfield 8, Towanda 3

The Tigers scored four runs in the fourth and fifth innings to help them to the win.

Jarrod Burd scored a run and Bryce Zaparzynski and Joel Whittaker each had a hit and scored two runs in the win.

Rylen Whitmeyer had a hit, a run and an RBI and Nathan Tice had an RBI. Carl Dinger scored a run, J.P. Shaw had a hit and an RBI and Scott Reese had two hits, an RBI and a run.

Towanda got a run and an RBI from Ethan Barto and Nick Place had a double and an RBI.

Tyler Bidlack, Brandon McLinko and Mitchell Shoemaker all had hits for Towanda.

Lars Thomason had a hit and scored a run, Charlie Watkins had two hits and a run scored and Jared Lines had a hit and an RBI.

Dinger struck out three and walked three in five innings, allowing six hits and two runs, just one earned to get the win. Kipp Hillson pitched two innings, striking out two and allowing one hit.

Place worked five innings for Towanda with five strikeouts, allowing just two hits, and Barto worked two innings.

Mansfield struck for two in the first as Burd reached on a throwing error and Zaparzynski singled. Whittaker struck out, but the Black Knights had to throw to first for the out and Burd scored. Whitmeyer sacrificed Zaparzynski to third and he scored on a sacrifice fly by Tice.

Towanda got two runs back in the second to tie it when Shoemaker reached on an error and was retired on a fielder's choice off the bat of Thomason. Thomason moved to second on a Watkins single and moved to third on a passed ball. Thomason scored on a Lines RBI single and after a walk by Kisner Barto hit a sacrifice fly to score Watkins.

Mansfield took the lead back in the third as Zaparzynski walked, moved to second on a passed ball, stole third and scored on a Whitmeyer sacrifice fly.

In the fourth they added to their lead on a two-run single by Reese.

Towanda got a run in the sixth as Keegan Kisner was hit by a pitch. Barto hit into a fielder's choice putting him on first and Place doubled him home.

"I saw some positive stuff from us tonight, we had eight base hits tonight, we have to concentrate them better," Towanda coach Bill Sexton said. "When you get eight base hits you have to get more runs. Pitching wise, I didn't think we pitched that badly tonight. We had two crucial errors, two mental errors. We just have got to get better in the mental and physical phases of the game defensively. We have a lot of first year starters, a lot of growing pains, but you can't make excuses you have got to get better and hopefully we do."

Towanda hosts Wyalusing on Monday.

Notre Dame 12, Watkins Glen 3

The Crusaders scored four runs in the fifth and seven in the seventh to rally for the win.

Watkins Glen led 2-1 after four before the big fifth by the Crusaders.

Parker May had two hits and scored two runs and Kyle Minchin had two hits and scored a run.

Matt Smith had two hits and Cam Reid had three hits and scored three runs.

Matt LaBadie scored two runs and Nate Snavely had an RBI.

Chris Karam had a hit, two RBI and a run scored and Louie Clearwater had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored.

Dan Sterns had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

May pitched one inning, striking out two and Ben Cook went six innings, striking out five and allowing four hits.
