NEB baseball clinches spot in districts.

The Northeast Bradford Panthers are heading to the District 4 playoffs after winning a pitchers duel on Thursday 1-0 over St. John Neumann.

Brian Horton threw a five-hitter, striking out 12 and walking just one, to lead the Panthers to their 10th win, qualifying them for the postseason.

Horton out-dueled Isaac Beiter, who also threw a five-hitter, striking out seven and walking one in the loss.

"Beiter from Neumann kind of matched, he walked one, struck out seven, it was a good game," Northeast Bradford coach Brian Pifer said. "Brian's only walk was the first batter he faced. We made a few errors, but he pitched his way out of it. He got stronger as the game went on and threw 96 pitches. We are pleased, we are moving forward now.

"It was a good game to watch, but a better game to win."

Northeast Bradford's run came in the third inning when Grant Allis led off with a single and scored on Tyler Emick's RBI single.

Joby Lieser had a two-out triple in the fourth for the Panthers and Nate Watkins had two hits.

Northeast Bradford is at Mountain View on Saturday.

Athens 1, Montoursville 0, 14 innings

The Wildcats won in a marathon game, as Cody Jennings and Matt Collins each threw seven shutout innings in the win.

Luke Newman finally ended the game in the 14th with a home run. Newman was

3-for-6 with a home run, a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Ryan Kennedy, Marc Felt, Cody Jennings and Justin Reagan had hits for Athens.

Jennings and Collins each allowed four hits in seven innings. Jennings struck out six and Collins struck out three.

Nolan Ott threw eight shutout innings for Montoursville, striking out five.

Owen Kiess had three hits, with two doubles, and Breycen Mussina had two hits for Montoursville.

Mansfield 7, Wyalusing 6, 8 innings

Kipp Hillson drove home Brendan Hill with the winning run as Mansfield walked-off with the win.

Down 6-5 entering the seventh the Tigers scored twice in the eighth inning.

Hill had tied the game for the Tigers, driving in Joel Whitteker.

Hill and Hillson had two hits each, both driving in two and Hill scored two runs.

Eli Compton had a hit and Carl Dinger had a double and scored a run.

Levi Adams and Dylan Williamson each had a double, a run scored and an RBI and Whitteker had a double, an RBI and scored two runs, while Charlie Andrews had a hit.

Dinger and Hillson pitched, striking out three.

Riley God had a hit and an RBI for the Rams and Holdan Hitchcock had two hits and scored a run.

Isaac Bennett scored a run and Kyle Warner had a hit.

Ridge Williams had a hit and scored a run and Chandler Brown and Scott Eberlin each had a hit and an RBI.

Chandler Brown scored two runs and Mike Wilcox had a hit and an RBI.

Eli Bennett had a double, an RBI and a run scored and Zach Bruyn had two hits, with a double.

The Rams had three pitchers, striking out one combined, in the game.

Sayre 11, Troy 1, 6 innings

Nate Sweet struck out four in the complete-game win and he had a home run with two RBI in the victory.

Sam Wheeler had a hit and scored a run and Luke Cowder scored two runs.

Matt Williams had two hits and scored three runs and Connor Hanafin had a double and an RBI.

John Esposito had two hits, two RBI and a run scored and Jordan Rockwell had a double, an RBI and two runs scored.

James Esposito scored a run and Chris Ray had two hits and an RBI, while Jake Goodrich had a hit and an RBI.

Collin Binford had a hit and scored Troy's run and Dane Smith had a hit and an RBI.

Nathan Swain, Clark Jackson, Nate Martin, Cody Schucker and Tyler Williams had hits for Troy, while Hunter Cohick had a pair of hits.

Sayer got off to a 5-0 lead in the first inning on their way to the win.

Swain and Kyle Schucker pitched in the game for the Trojans.
