CANTON — The Sayre Redskins got a one-hitter from Jordan Rockwell as they topped Canton 6-0 in a five-inning game shortened due to rain.
Playing in the rain throughout, the Redskins got a run in the first inning and their bats came alive in the fourth as they pulled away for the win.
Rockwell struck out nine in the win and walked none.
Sam Wheeler had two hits and scored two runs and Nate Sweet had a hit, an RBI and scored a run.
Luke Cowder had a hit, an RBI and a run scored for Sayre and Matt Williams and Connor Hanafin had RBI, while Rockwell and Chris Ray scored runs in the game.
Mason Martell had Canton's hit. Bryce Cole started on the mound for Canton and Nate Deeghan pitched in relief, as the two struck out two in the game.
The Trojans got three runs in the first and four in the sixth in the win.
Collin Binford had a double and scored a run and Clark Jackson had two hits, with a double and a runs cored.
Kyle Schucker had two hits and an RBI and Dane Smith had two hits, with a triple, two runs scored and two RBI.
Nate Martin had a double and scored a run and Kody Schucker had two hits and an RBI.
Jah Wallace and Tyler Williams scored runs for Troy.
Nathan Swain, Jackson and Kyle Schucker pitched. Swain threw three one-hit innings with two strikeouts to get the win. Jackson threw one inning and Kyle Schucker threw three innings with four strikeouts to get the save.
Dawson Prough had two hits and scored a run for Wellsboro and Joe Allen had a hit and scored a run, while Brandon Plume had a hit.
Johnny Rowland, Dalton Prough and James Mundy pitched, striking out three.
With the win Troy qualified for districts for the third straight year.
Troy is at Wyalusing today.
The Wildcats scored 13 runs in the second inning to get the win.
Marc Felt threw three innings on the mound, allowing two hits with a strikeout and Nate Kennedy and Luke Newman each threw an inning, with Newman striking out two.
Ryan Kennedy had an RBI and scored a run and Ethan Witherow had an RBI.Matt Collins had an RBI and Cody Sindoni had two doubles, two RBI and a run scored, while Newman scored a run.
Felt had two hits, with an RBI and a run scored and Nate Kennedy had a hit.
Cody Jennings had a double, with two RBI and two runs scored and Gavin Stein had two hits, an RBI and a run scored.
Joe Horn scored a run and Daniel Joyce had an RBI and a run scored.

Keegan Kisner had a hit and scored a run for Towanda and Tyler Bidlack had an RBI and a run scored.

Zane Neubert and Luke Tama had RBI for Towanda.
Manchester, Kisner and Bobby Farley pitched for Towanda, striking out two.
"I am pretty pleased with Bobby Farley," Towanda coach Bill Sexton said. "Bobby is a JV kid and he came in a tough spot. He came in with the bases loaded and Luke Newman at the plate and he struck out Newman. Then, the rest of the game he threw strikes. Bobby came in and did an excellent job for us. I'm very pleased for him."
Towanda hosts Wyalusing on Friday.
Ben Cook threw a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts as the Crusaders got the win.
Notre Dame is a game back of Edison in the division standings, and they resume a game at Edison in the third inning on Saturday, leading 5-1. The game resumes at 11 a.m.
