Notre Dame, Wellsboro, Waverly earn season opening wins.

SOUTHPORT, N.Y. — A 3-run fourth inning proved to be the difference as Notre Dame defeated Lansing 4-1 to open their baseball season Monday.
Matt Smith was 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Crusaders while Dustin Patton was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Hunter Homerda was also 1-for-3 while Ryess Youmans and Gary Raupers each scored runs.
Homerda got the win, going six innings to strike out three while allowing one hit, four walks and one unearned run.
Owen Stewart pitched the seventh for the save. He walked one and struck out one.
Wellsboro 4, Canton 1
A 3-run bottom of the second inning propelled the Hornets to their season and home opening victory in NTL baseball action Monday.
Canton led 1-0 after the top of the second before Wellsboro rallied in the bottom half of the inning.
The Hornets added a safety run in the bottom of the sixth.
Caleb Tennis led Wellsboro at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored while Silas Wagaman was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
Dalton Prough and Johnny Rowland each went 1-for-3 with an RBI while Lucas Citrino was 1-for-1 with a run scored.
Billy Lechler (1-for-4) and Cam Tennis (1-for-3) also had hits with Cam's a double.
Brock Hamblin scored a run as well.
Rowland got the complete game win, going all seven innings to strike out five while allowing five hits and one unearned run.
Garrett Storch (1-for-3) had a double and an RBI for Canton while Carter Route was 1-for-3 wth a run scored.
Nate Deegan (1-for-3), Kaden Marshall (1-for-3) and Dylan Wilcox (1-for-3) also had hits for the Warriors.
Deegan started and scores the loss, striking out two while allowing four hits, three walks and three runs but only one was earned in four innings of work.
Micheal Smithers went the final two innings, striking out one while allowing four hits and one unearned run in the relief outing.
Waverly 10, Dryden 7
In a back and forth affair the Wolverines used a 3-run rally in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good in their IAC baseball opener Monday.
Dryden led 3-1 after the first inning but a run in the second and two more in the third put Waverly up 4-3.
Dryden added three more runs in the top of the fourth to take a 6-4 lead but the Wolverines tied it up with two runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Dryden added a seventh run in the top of the fifth but in the bottom half of the inning Waverly pulled ahead. They added a safety run in the sixth.
Eithan McEnulty had himself a day for the Wolverines, going 4-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI while Elijah Kraft (1-for-2) and Jason Morales (1-for-3) also had doubles, Morales scored twice and knocked in a run while Kraft scored and had an RBI.
Colby Sindoni, Mike Shaffer, Montana Davis and Chandler Whitmarsh also had hits.
Sindoni and Shaffer both scored twice while Davis also crossed home. Sindoni, Shaffer, Scott Woodring and Davis each had an RBI as well.
Cole Jenner got the start for Waverly but it was Tyler Croft who earned the win while Brady Roney nabbed the save.
Jenner went the first three innings, striking out three while allowing three hits, four walks and five runs, two of them earned. Croft went the next three innings for the victory, striking out three while allowing four hits, two walks and two earned runs.
Roney pitched the final inning, striking out all three batters he faced on 14 pitches.
Tioga 9, Moravia 0
Connor Hutchinson went 3-for-4 to lead the Tigers to an IAC baseball win Monday.
Hutchinson had a double and a run scored while also throwing four innings and allowing two hits.
Justin Rockwell was 2-for-4 with two runs while Brady Worthing, Mitchell Taylor, Derrick Barto and Thomas Cook each had hits.
Taylor scored three times while Worthing, Barto and Trenton Perretta also crossed home.
Taylor got the start and win, allowing four hits in three innings of work.
