JV Hornets Score 13-9 Win Over Canton

Wellsboro's JV Baseball team improved to 4-0 over the weekend with a 13-9 win over Canton on Saturday, April 6.
Sophomore Cameron Owlett and freshman Max Mascho both went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Hornets. Owlett scored 3 runs and Mascho doubled, drove in two runs and scored a run. Freshmen Syler Pietrzyk and Braxton Kerr were both 1-for-2 with Kerr scoring a run and Pietrzyk scoring 4 times. Freshman Coen Tennis tripled, scored 2 runs and drove in 3 runs.
Freshman Izaya Campbell (2) and junior Dustin Owlett drew walks and sophomore Jacob Heckman scored a pair of runs and had a sac bunt.
Junior Gabe Sprouse struck out 5 batters over 2 innings, junior Ryder Bowen had 4 strikeouts, 3 hits and allowed 3 runs over 2 innings, Cameron Owlett walked 5 and struck out 3 in 1 and two-thirds innings while surrendering 6 runs, and Pietrzyk struck out 4 in one and a third innings.
