Morral Drives In 4 Runs As Hornets Shutout Wyalusing, 18-0

Sophomore Griffin Morral drove in 4 runs at the plate, and scored one of his own, to help lead the Wellsboro Varsity Baseball team to an 18-0 road win over Wyalusing on Tuesday afternoon.
The Hornets scored 4 times in the 2nd, 3 runs in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th and exploded for 9 runs in the 5th to end the game early.
Morral finished 3-for-5 at the plate with his 4 RBIs and scored a run. Senior Cameron Owlett went 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored and junior Coen Tennis was 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Sophomore Gabe Cuneo also had a multi-hit game (2-for-5) and scored a pair of runs.
Senior Marek Mascho (1-for-4), freshman Gage Baltzley (1-for-3) and sophomore Kody Enck (1-for-3) made up the rest of the Hornets' 15 hits in the game. Marek Mascho scored 3 runs, junior Max Mascho scored twice, Baltzley scored twice and Enck, freshman Maddon Mascho, and sophomore Reed Richardson all scored once.
Max Mascho and junior Syler Pietrzyk combined no a one-hitter on the day. Mascho got the win in three innings of work, striking out 6 with just one walk and one hit. Pietrzyk struck out two and walked two in two innings.
The win is the Hornets' sixth in a row, improving them to 10-2 (9-1 NTL Large School Division). The Hornets welcome Canton to town on Thursday afternoon.
